FITNESS, PLAYGROUND AND SWIMMING POOL
A community playground is located at the stoplight in the Village Green. The community swimming pool, new fitness center and gymnasium are located on Frank Allen Road next to the Public Library in downtown Cashiers.
FISHING
The Chattooga River and Whitewater Rivers are ranked as top fishing rivers for wild brown tout. Brookings Orvis store in downtown Cashiers offers fly fishing classes or can arrange for guides.
HIKING & WATERFALLS
Whiteside Mountain, part of the vast Nantahala National Forest is right next door to your home in Stonefly and is probably one of the most popular hiking areas in Cashiers. GOLFING
Public Golf courses in and around Cashiers include Sapphire National Golf Club, Red Bird Golf Links (9 holes) on 64 East.
BOATING & WATER SPORTS:
Lake Glenville is located off Highway 107 North, 5 miles from Cashiers. Rentals for bass boats, deck boats, pontoons , water ski boats, canoes and Kayaks are available by the hour. Lake Fairfield in Sapphire Valley on US 64 East also rents canoes, sailboats and kayaks.
WHITEWATER RAFTING
Numerous outfitters in the surrounding area offer canoe, kayak and tubing and fly fishing trips.
ZIP LINES
Several companies now offer canopy zip line tours in Western North and are within easy driving distance from Cashiers.
GEM MINES
Kids and adults alike love digging in the creeks and sifting through stones in search of treasures. Wear old shoes and clothes and prepare to get dirty. There are numerous gem mines open to the public near Cashiers and nearby Franklin, NC.
